Very exciting to have one of my wedding gowns on this wonderful shoot! The dress was a stunning

vintage 80’s pure silk gown, with a full flowing skirt and train. Delicate pearl embellishments

decorated the v-shaped neckline and cuffs. Leg of mutton sleeves, which puffed out in silken

splendour, lent the dress an Edwardian elegance, broadening the shoulder line, and simultaneously

clinching the waist, from which the skirt bloomed out beneath extravagantly.

The outstanding hair stylist Grainne Gault festooned the models head, upsweeping her hair through

lengthy strips of brambles, and twigs, adding “dots” of blue flowers and some green leaves. There

was a wildness and yet a structure to the style. It was soft, daring, ingenious and incredibly romantic.

It could have easily graced any of the international runways, and reflected perfectly the sylvan

setting and the lush fairy like woodlands the shoot took place in. The incredible drama of the

upsweep was softened by thick trails of loose hair that fell softly onto Claire’s décolleté. Our model

Claire looked like a newly crowned fairy Queen.

Matthew Reilly kept the shoot as fresh and natural as possible, using the light to its fullest

advantage. This extremely talented photographer captured the essence of the theme, encapsulating

every picture with beauty and innocence. Claire swept up ancient stone stair cases, embraced a walk

in a blue bell carpeted woodland like a Princess, showing the gown to its best advantage, and gave

stunning close ups, with her eyes dreamily focused on some distant point.

The incredible aesthetic that was brought into being by so many talented people was a triumph, and

as I watched Claire walk through a sun dappled dell, the light blazing in spots on the ivory silk with

radiance, and her glorious hairstyle of twigs and flowers turning her into an ethereal nymph, I was

reminded of a quote by a modern actress, Jorja Fox.

“Beauty is everything, love is innocent, and a future with the perfect man is life.”

Who could argue?
